Yes, too much work is the best problem to have. But the reality is, it leaves me with little to no time to write, reflect and advance action steps toward my own goals. As much as I love my clients and my work, skipping out on my own marketing is not the brightest idea.
It made me think: How many of you are killing it for your clients, but ignoring the advancement of your own endeavors in the process?
So, over coffee and a 10-minute break, I wrote down 5 simple, super-quick things you can do right this minute to pour some love into your own business.
#1. Refresh Your Instagram Bio
Great bios are a snapshot of not just who you are but what you offer to the world.

#2. Re-share A Popular Post
Everyone I know seems to forget that…
- They’re gaining new follower to their communities all the time and
- Not everyone organically sees even your best and brightest content.
Look at something that was popular in the past, and share it again! You can always reshape the caption or elaborate on the post with some new perspective or experience. But it’s totally not a crime to simply share it again as-is. Really.
Inspired? Boost the reach with some paid ad oomph.
#3. Ask Your Favorite Client, Fan or Customer for a Testimonial
Your biggest supporters are your biggest supporters for a reason. Ask them why they love your service, work or product, and voila! You have a new quote for your website, a rave to share on social media, a testimonial to insert into your next proposal… Just make sure to ask for permission to share widely when you ask for their thoughts.

#4. Re-read Your Goals
I guarantee you’ve been dreaming of more since you last wrote out your plan for the quarter, the year or your life on a grand scale. Remind yourself of your professional goals to spark new ideas and institute another small step toward your next big win. Don’t forget to congratulate yourself on the work you’ve already done!

#5. Take A Walk. A Break. Unplug.
It might seem irresponsible to step away from all the work you have to accomplish, but I promise that breath is going to give you the energy, clarity and desire to work smarter, better and more efficiently.
